The HiLoad Attachable Propulsion Unit (HiLoad APU) is a cost effective solution which provide additional propulsion or DP capabilities for rigs and ship-shaped vessels. The HiLoad APU can be connected to a semi-submersible without any structural modifications of the rigs pontoon due to the patented friction attachment system.

Changes in the rig mooring arrangements can be challenging due to increased weight. As such applying an APU solution will minimize weight conflicts, while at the same time maintain positioning capabilities and enable increased rig utilization. The APU will be prefabricated which again minimize the overall rig off-hire.

The main components in the HiLoad APU DP System proposed for the Generic Rig are shown in figure below.
